Jeffrey McCredie began painting when he was three. As a youth, he studied art at the Allgates Art Program and with Ithzak Sankowsky(Philadelphia Museum of Art). He received a Fulbright Scholarship to Germany in art and drama and traveled and painted extensively in Europe when he was 21. He studied art at the University of Freiburg and Florence and was a copyist at several museums. When he returned to the United States, he furthered studied at the Corcoran School of Art and with Peter Thrasher (Nelson Shanks). As a member of the U.S. Foreign Service, he painted for years in the greater Washington, D.C. and in numerous countries around the world and the various parts of the south. He also painted and worked in Southern California for many years, having been a member of West Coast Artists and several plein air groups. He has been represented by galleries in Washington, D.C. and in California and sold paintings to many government officials, diplomats, actors, and movie studio executives. He currently has a studio in East Goshen, PA.
